- (505) 263-7585
Born and raised in the Colorado mountains, Matt was introduced to the outdoors at a very early age and learned from his father to always strive to “leave things better than you found them”. He was reared on this ethical principle and camping, skiing, fly fishing, ice skating, and many other outdoor activities. Matt has had the privilege to live in and enjoy the Southwest (Colorado, Arizona and now New Mexico) and all it has to offer his entire life. Matt has a diverse education including a Masters in Public Administration, Masters in Urban and Regional Planning, and three Bachelors degrees and has diverse work experience including historic preservation, economic development, riparian habitat and river restoration on the lower Colorado River, as well as owning several businesses and significant experience in the public sector and building public/private/non-profit partnerships. Matt is excited to bring his enthusiasm for conservation and workforce development to RMYC as the Conservation Program Director.
When not building the next partnership or assisting with the many projects of RMYC, Matt can be found wandering in the woods or Bosque at all hours; riding his mountain bike on his next adventure; skiing, skating or learning to snowshoe; getting tossed around the Aikido dojo or taking time to practice Tai Chi outside. Matt is also the father of two fine young men who are making their way through college.
