Crew schedules:
Day Crew
- These crews work during business hours (7am-4pm or 8am-5pm), Monday through Friday
- Housing not provided
- Crew transportation provided, applicants must have personal transportation to the office.
- **Day Crew corpsmembers can be 17-25**

Spike Crew
- These crews work 8 days on, 6 days off
- Corpsmembers camp overnight together in the field for the duration of the 8-day spike
- Individual camping gear available for loan/rent, food provided, no housing available when off spike for 6 days.
- Crew transportation provided, applicants must have personal transportation to the office.
- **Spike corpsmembers must be 18-25**

Types of crews:
Conservation Crews
The majority of our crews participate in conservation based projects. Crews are made up of 6-7 corpsmembers and a staff Crew Supervisor. Crews meet at RMYC offices and head to each project as a crew. Conservation crew positions are available for 17-25 year-olds in both regions. We also offer some identity-specific crews, like our Tribal Crews and our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Crews.
Projects include:
- Trail maintenance
- Forestry/fuels reduction (chainsaw thinning)
- Prescribed burn fire
- Scientific monitoring
- Historic preservation
- Watershed restoration
- Community improvement work
- Disaster response
- Erosion control structures
- Invasive species management
- And a variety of other projects

Individual Placement, Interns and VISTA
Individual placements, interns, and AmeriCorps VISTAs work directly with sponsoring organizations and land-managing agencies to build capacity of community organizations and/or support the mission of the agency. These individual positions are catered to the needs of the hosting organization and could have a focus in different expertise.
Projects may include:
- Fundraising
- Organizational capacity building
- GIS mapping
- Forest monitoring
- Recreation, range, biology, fire support

All corpsmembers receive:
- Personal and professional development training
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Financial management training
- Career and college prep workshops
- Public speaking skill development
- Support towards GED or high school diploma
- Industry recognized certifications

All positions are seasonal and our typical seasons are:
Spring
- Spike crew positions only, must be 18-25 years old
- 4.5 months
- April to August
Summer
- Spike and day crew positions available
- 10 weeks
- June to August
Fall
- Spike crew positions, must be 18-25 years old
- Day crew positions, 17-25 years old
- 3 to 5 months
- September to December or February
