Bureau of Reclamation Dual-Flush Installations

With partners including Ancianos, Taos County, the Town of Taos, and the Taos Housing Authority, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps crews have scheduled installations and arrived at homes and businesses to bring water conservation to Taos County. The crews have handled all the preparation of printed materials, advertising, scheduling, and the installation of dual-flush systems in 120 homes so far. The dual flush system works by using less water for liquid waste and allows users to decide how much water they use per flush. These devices can save up to 15,000 gallons of water per year and save the homeowner up to $100 in utility bills per year! With 280 installations to go, crews will be hard at work installing more systems in order to conserve our precious resources and bringing much-needed savings to homes and business owners in Taos County.
