They called themselves the Roving Rec (“Recreation”) Crew because they traveled all over the Carson National Forest to complete a ton of recreation facility improvement projects. Their work included painting bulletin boards, repairing picnic tables and other constructed features, mowing grass, cleaning out fire rings, making visitor contacts, and completing a bunch of deferred maintenance.  The crew also built new features such as bulletin boards, picnic tables, fire rings, barriers, and fire rings

So the next time you are in the Carson, remember the Roving Rec Crew and be grateful for their hard work to make your experience more enjoyable.
